Tramaine EL-Amin is a mental health equity advocate and social impact executive currently serving as vice president of Mental Health First Aid USA® at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in Washington, D.C. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of wellbeing programs for the public and private sectors while advancing mission-driven business growth. As a certified national trainer, Tramaine has contributed to more than 3 million individuals being equipped to recognize signs and symptoms related to mental health, substance use and suicide across the country. Prior to her tenure at the National Council, Tramaine oversaw health equity initiatives at the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). Her efforts focused on community engagement, legislative change management, and a strategic approach to addressing public mental health disparities for more than 1.5 million youth and adults throughout Philadelphia.
