Description

Organizations that work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can become trauma-informed, resilience-oriented and equity-focused (TIROE) to best meet the needs of the people they serve.

Join us to learn more and engage in a conversation about TIROE systems (TIROES) and approaches. This session will explore the prevalence and impact of trauma; the key principles of TIROES; what being trauma-informed looks like in daily practice; and the connection to self-care and compassion resilience. You’ll also:

  1. Gain knowledge on key concepts and principles for being TIROE.
  2. Learn how to build compassion resiliency skills that help prevent burnout and compassion fatigue.
  3. Engage in discussion around TIROE best practices for organizations that serve individuals with IDD.

Attendees will also receive information on how they can continue their organization’s learning journey through the National Council’s consulting services.
